Xbox 360 Dashboard Improvements
People on the XBox 360 Dashboard team are asking for suggestions for the fall update of the 360 Dashboard. In the spirit of all things blogospherical, I left mine.
- The ability to see what game is in the drive.
- The ability to eject the tray from within the dashboard.
- When I select “show me what is on the hard disk from this game” from the Played Games menu don’t just dump me to the Memory view.
- The ability to see the current playlist and choose songs from it when I call up my guide.
- Why am I limited to 100 songs when I’m streaming a playlist from my computer? If it’s memory: Why can’t my computer handle the playlist and just send it to the 360?
- Why is the Arcade games list is populated so slowly? Surely you can just cache that.
- More themes for the blade edges.
- Themed toasts?
- In the Wireless connection screen the bar-graph of connection strength at the bottom is pretty hard to see on an SD television.
And I’m prepared to adjust my initial offer in their comments. If 75% of my issues are dealt with, they’ll get the internet cookie.

Dashboard suggestions
Unable different pics for each blade, small program to customize from XP, possibly putting your own backing music/ambience until you start doing something as loved the xbox robot voices thing.
MSN messenger compatablity with a small wireless keyboard.
INTERNET SURFING, - just makes sense now HD is here, would look sweet surfing on such a large screen.
Be able to play any video from an xp pc (divx, mpeg), without media centre
I can plug my 260 gig external drive into the xbox and stream music, if i could stream video to? wow

Allow me to reply to these.
“Unable different pics for each blade, small program to customize from XP, possibly putting your own backing music/ambience until you start doing something as loved the xbox robot voices thing.”
Cool.
“MSN messenger compatablity with a small wireless keyboard.”
Eh, if I wanted to use MSN I’d use my PC. But if other people will enjoy it, why not?
“INTERNET SURFING, - just makes sense now HD is here, would look sweet surfing on such a large screen.”
I’m not sure I want Internet Explorer on my Xbox. Disaster will strike as soon as an exploit is released.
“Be able to play any video from an xp pc (divx, mpeg), without media centre”
Microsoft will never do this because they like your money.

I`d like the ability to choose in the Console Settings menu how I sign into live every time I connect (Online Status). I sometimes appear offline when I dont want to be interupted and if I get dc’d I always have to manually set to Appear Offline before signing in again. Does this make sense?
