Nine Inch Nails: Year Zero

It’s probably blasphemy to admit to this, but With Teeth got me into NiN. Well that and Perfect Drug on the Lost Highway soundtrack. So I’m probably the worst person to review this album. I’ve listened to the other albums and I kind of dig them, but With-uh Teeth-uh is probably my favorite.
Until this baby came along. It is groovy distorted electronica or industrial or whatever the name dujour is. It’s political and I’m always in for a good fight-the-system-album.
Stand-out tracks for me were Survivalism, Capitol G, Vessel, God Given and The Great Destroyer. The rest were alright but not really memorable. If there’s one thing to complain about this album is that all the songs sound similar and blur together.
Year Zero isn’t going to be a mainstream success, but existing Trent Reznor fans should be satisfied with it.
