Nerds are creepy
Justin.tv is an old meme by now. It’s gone mainstream. Honestly, I’ve never actually watched it. Heard a lot of buzz about it on podcasts and blogs, but never actually participated.
I then found that Justine Ezarik of Macbreak-fame (Well, that’s where I know her from) had a Justin.tv account and was broadcasting.
First of all I do not understand why anyone would voluntarily open up their entire live to the internet like that. But since these people are choosing to do it, hopefully fully aware of the consequences it entails.
However, there’s a problem. Justine’s a girl. An attractive girl. With geekish traits. This and the broadcasting seems to be a recipe for disaster creepiness. And oh boy is it.
I saw this conversation within three seconds of logging on. Justine was bikini shopping and a couple of crusty nerds were commenting on it. What do people hope to accomplish with this? Hope that Justine sees this and goes “oh he thinks i’m hot i’m going to go to his basement and liberate him from his parents”.
Bleh.
I do realize I’m white-knighting. (rolling wit da punches)
