Master Chief dies too (in the ending of Halo 3); nerds weep harder
I just clicked publish on the last post and an even more interesting story appeared in my RSS reader. The ending to Halo 3 has been leaked and Master Chief dies.
Which isn’t a big surprise if you’ve been following the ad campaign (dealing with the memories of heroes fallen).
Apparently if you beat it on Legendary or whatever you get a little cutscene after the credits that show him alive. But, that isn’t canon, because that would be the lamest cop-out ever.

Master Chief lives. In the end, after driving off of halo with The Arbiter, Cortana, and yourself you land in a ship. You start falling off into space but you grab on. Cortana says “It was great serving you if you don’t make it” and you reply “We’ll make it.” It then goes to Marines saluting the dead, Johnson, Gates, marines, and “Master Chief”. The coffin says 117 on it, Master Chief’s number. Watch through the credits and DONT PUSH ANYTHING. At the end it will show Master Chief and Cortana floating on part of the Halo Ring. She will say you made it and ended the war but It will take years for people to find you both. You get in a pod and reply “Wake me when you need me.” So, thats the end. His final quote hints to Halo 4 possibly, but we just ahve to wait and see. :]
